that的用法
1、that 作指示代詞
如：That is the greatest guarantee of success.
那是成功的最好保證。
2、that 作指示形容詞
如："Do you remember that guy you were dating? What happened to him?" she asked.
你記得和你約會(huì)的那個(gè)小伙嗎？他發(fā)生什么了？她問(wèn)。
3、that作關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句
如：This is the sort of thing that Jeremy loves.
這是杰里米喜歡的東西。
4、that 作連詞
that 可以作連詞引導(dǎo)各種名詞性從句，包括賓語(yǔ)從句、主語(yǔ)從句、同位語(yǔ)從句和表語(yǔ)從句。
（1) that 作連詞引導(dǎo)賓語(yǔ)從句
They have recommended that the site be closed and repaired.
他們建議將該處關(guān)閉并進(jìn)行維修。
（2) that 作連詞引導(dǎo)主語(yǔ)從句
That you will win the medal seems unlikely.
你想獲得獎(jiǎng)牌看起來(lái)是不可能的。
（3) that 作連詞引導(dǎo)同位語(yǔ)從句
The idea that modern art can only be seen in museums is mistaken.

（4) that 作連詞引導(dǎo)表語(yǔ)從句
One problem is that I don't look any different from other people.
有一個(gè)問(wèn)題是我看起來(lái)和其它人沒(méi)有任何不同。
5、that作副詞
that和 this 都可以作副詞，用于修飾形容詞或修飾另一個(gè)副詞，表示“這么，那么，如此，這般”的意思，如：
There aren't that many people here.
這兒沒(méi)這么多人。
6、that的常見句型搭配
that還有很多詞組和搭配，尤其需要熟悉下邊這些與英語(yǔ)句型有關(guān)的結(jié)構(gòu)。
（1）so that以便, 以使；以致
如：Read the advertisements so that you can compare prices.
你應(yīng)該看一些廣告以便比較價(jià)格。
（2）in order that為了
如：I am saving money in order that I can buy a house.
我正在攢錢，以便能買一所房子。
（3）except that除了(...之外); 只是
如：Act 2 is similar, except that the orange block is smaller.
第2幕(跟第1幕)類似，除了那個(gè)橙色塊小了一些。
